With over 20 years experience Chris Foster is a leading player within the male hairdressing industry. His unique stance incorporating a modern flair to traditional barbering guarantees that he is always approaching men’s hairdressing with a fresh and innovative mind. This unique approach to male grooming can be seen as Creative Director based at The Refinery, Mayfair and Harrods Barbershop. Also, as Principal of The Foss Academy he is dedicated to providing education through his elite men’s grooming training to ambitious and progressive stylists who want to achieve the highest level of technical excellence.
He is a dynamic international platform stylist who exhibits the right mix of showmanship, energy and education, which is also reflected in his photographic and session work. Chris Foster is currently the Style Director for The British Barbers Association.
Chris’s session work has allowed him to head up global creative teams, demonstrating his diverse skills for shows including Fashion weeks in Paris, Moscow, New York, and London, with a record breaking 105 models Ozwald Boateng OBE show was the largest ever menswear show, held at the Odeon, Leicester Square. He incorporates the essence of fashion trends in all his work, leading styling teams and presenting collections in front of heads of state at the African Union Summit in Ghana; Nigeria and the majestic Royal Albert Hall.
His ability to capture and incorporate the essence of fashion trends in his work, has allowed his skills to be showcased in publications such as Sunday Time’s Style Supplement, Hairdressers Journal, FHM and Men’s Health Magazine. Chris is seen as one of the UK’s leading men’s groomers and is the editor’s choice for features; He also is regular columnist in Professional Hairdresser Magazine and Hair Magazine.

Helen Casey is the Deputy Head of make up and wigs at the National Theatre. Helen has a wealth of knowledge with regards career paths and invites you to join her at their stand.

Giuseppe Cannas is the Head of Wigs, Hair, and Make-Up Department at the National Theatre. He has travelled internationally with a variety of theatre and opera productions, including The Lion King and Sydney Theatre Company. He has also worked as a key make-up artist on films and editorial including American Vogue and Vanity Fair. He is passionate about technical innovation in theatre hair and make-up practice and about passing on traditional skills to the next generation of artists.

Over the years, Daniel has worked Internationally on a number of shoots with high profile fashion photographers for top glossies, and with designers backstage at a number of major fashion shows as well as being a regular on national TV. Throughout his career he has beautified celebrities including: Naomi Campbell, Rachel Weisz, Kristen Scott Thomas and Kate Moss and continues to work with high profile clients and celebrities getting them ready for red carpet events, TV appearances, etc.
Daniel says, “I was one of the first makeup artists to bring out a self-titled range and I’m immensely proud of the brand.”

Adrian trained as a Makeup Artist in 1995. Entered into the film industry professionally in 1998. First major work on a feature was Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, in 2001 for Nick Dudman's Makeup FX and Creature dept. Continued to work for Nick on the subsequent Potter films with various freelance work in between and since. Including projects for Neill Gorton's Millennium Fx and also working for Mark Coulier's Coulier Creatures company on many various projects, including Merlin and World War Z.

Danny Elias is a make-up, hair and prosthetics artist with a broad range of experience including film & television, fashion, media and editorial, as well as being a fully qualified teacher. She is a member of the 'Professional Leadership Academy' at the University of Bedfordshire and former Manager of ‘Neill Gortons Prosthetic Studio’. Danny began teaching media make-up for College Gwent and was an integral part of ‘It's My Shout Productions’, training young make-up artists in association with BBC Wales, S4C, the UK Film Council, the Arts Council of Wales and ITV.
Recent screen credits includeHerotiks,BBCs A Midsummer Night's Dream, The X-Factor (2015,2014), ‘Dc Brain ‘Casualty, Sherlock, Indian Doctor, Wizards vs Aliens andDoctor Who. She designed the make-up for recent TV film Devil's Vice (BBC1), S4C Pobol y Cwm ‘after dark’web series. In 2010 she designed the highly popular underwater series ‘The Underwater Realm’ and worked with Millennium FX on the prosthetics for 20th Century Fox movie Victor Frankenstein. Recent publications includes ‘Prosthetics Magazine’ 'Faceon', 'EDGE', 'The Guardian', 'Vogue Italia', 'Cellardoor', 'Urban Mainstream', 'Fan the Fire', 'I Am LDN', 'T&M', 'Men’s Health' and Los Angeles based digital magazine 'Cliché. She has also been involved in several advertisement campaigns for ‘The Welsh National Opera’, Bullying UK’ ‘Hines’ ‘About Face’ ‘About Eyes’ Top Shop’ to name a few.
Tara specialises in Fashion and Editorial make-up, Special FX, Camouflage make-up and make-up for high-definition and film. As a member of the Kryolan International Make-up Team and UK Pro Team, Tara has travelled to Berlin for the Bambi Awards where she worked with clients and celebrities ahead of their appearance on the red carpet and stage. Most recently Tara has also toured India to teach the art of make-up from special effects to beauty to Bollywood looks. Tara currently teaches a range of intensive workshops for Kryolan UK including; Asian Bridal, glamour and editorial & beauty and bridal.
Tara will be demonstrating a Fantasy Asian Bridal / diverse beauty look at the Kryolan stand.

Leanne Simmons has been part of Kryolan UK for over five years, within this time she has taught a variation of classes from Beauty, Camouflage, Fashion-Editorial , Theatrical and SFX. Leanne has traveled India and Europe holding classes and seminars on behalf of Kryolan UK. From traveling she feels that she has gained a stronger knowledge and understanding of cultures and skin tones within make-up application and skills. She has also been part of the Kryolan Pro make-up team working on fashion shows in the UK and Europe, Corporate events (Tresor Paris,Bambis Berlin) and Editorial Magazine (POP Magazine).

As well as joining Paul Merchant on the Main Stage earlier in the day, Leanne will be demonstrating an Avant Garde Fashion / Pure Pigments Metallic look at the Kryolan stand.

Paul Merchant is a London based makeup artist working as head of the Kryolan UK makeup team. Paul has worked in all disciplines of the Make-up industry, from Theatre to Fashion, Body Painting to Cosmetic Camouflage.
As a self taught artist, Paul has developed his own style of working: "...I love to play around with products and find different and interesting ways of using them, other than their intended purpose. Having had experience in most genres of the industry I find the cross overs of products and techniques to be really useful in my creative work."

Paul is a global ambassador for Kryolan both on creative shoots and education . He has taught in countless schools and colleges across the UK including London College of Fashion and has completed tours of India and Taiwan focusing on High Definition make-up in Bollywood and editorial fashion. Some of his work includes London Fashion Week, Britain & Irelands Next Top Model Live, Sainsbury’s TV commercials, Help For Heros' Stadium Concert, Aggro Santos Music Video 'So Sexy', various editorial campaigns, and heading the Kryolan team on America’s Next Top Model Live.
Paul has filmed tutorial videos for cosmetic giants Glossy Box for 'real women'. He has worked on shows with designers including Joey Bevan, Fashion Mode & Vivienne Westwood. His work has been featured in industry magazines such as ‘Face On’, Make-up International, Warpaint, Make-up Artist, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Illusion, Italian Vogue and Taiwanese Vogue.

Gemma is a London / Essex based freelance Make-Up Artist. Gemma is also part of the Kryolan international team, she has worked in all disciplines of the Make-Up industry, from Theatre to Fashion, Body Painting to Camouflage.
Gemma will be demonstrating Cosmetic Camouflage on the Kryolan Stand.

Phil has been a make-up artist for the past 19 years and added Skin Camouflage work to his skillset after completing the British Association of Skin Camouflage Diploma in 2010.
Phil has worked extensively in television news occupying the role of Head of Make-up at ITN for 11 years.
Two years ago Phil transferred to the world of freelancing to further explore the very rewarding side of Skin Camouflage work. He has helped hundreds of clients to face the world with improved confidence following one of his Skin Camouflage consultations.
He also finds that the skill of Skin Camouflage influences his make-up techniques every day.'

Early years
Gustav Hoegen grew up in the Netherlands and then moved to England when he was 19 where there was a thriving film industry so that he could be part of it. He studied at the Bournemouth Art Institute in the Design Modelmaking course.[3] After two years in college, he was offered an apprenticeship at Artem.
Career
Hoegen started his career as a model maker at a company called Artem. Today he is an animatronic designer and modeler for Pinewood Studios located near London, England.

Chris Clarke is an internationally renowned Animatronics Designer who has been a master of this incredibly complex, technical craft for two decades. His innumerable credits include ‘Munich’, ‘The Golden Compass’, ‘War Horse’, ‘Wrath Of The Titans’, ‘Harry Potter’ and more recently, ‘Star Wars Episode VII’. We’re delighted he will be appearing on the lecture theatre stage to give an insight into this highly specialized area of prosthetics.
Chris is a 27 year veteran of movie and television, and is planted firmly in the old school ‘self taught from childhood’ category, making his first animatronic aged 6, and proceeding to spend his childhood in the garage building creatures, models and optical printers. Considered by many of his peers to be a leading light in the Animatronic world he has worked on some 40 plus movies as well as a multitude of TV, advert and promo work through the years, supervising, department heading and on-the-bench building on many movies. Always willing to share his methods with anyone who asks his advice, he hopes to be able to add his insight to this specialist branch of makeup effects/creature work.

Stephen Murphy studied film at the Edinburgh College Of Art, and quickly made the transition from filmmaking to special effects make-up artist when he secured a work experience role with Nick Dudman on The Mummy. Nick quickly spotted Stephen’s talent, which resulted in a ten-year stint for him alongside the SFX veteran on the entire Harry Potter series.
He now has more than 30 major movies under his belt including Gladiator, Sweeney Todd, and more recently, Mandela - The Long Walk to Freedom. He also worked on The Iron Lady, for which prosthetics designer, Mark Coulier, picked up an Oscar for Best Make-up.

Branka came from a fine Art background into the world of Make-up Artistry. She trained at West Thames College in London in all aspects of Hair and Make-up. Branka currently works for a number of fashion designers creating key looks for their campaigns whilst exploring current trends in runway and print. Over the past few years Branka has delved into the world of body painting within the commercial field and fine art commissions. She is now recognised as one of London's most talented body painters, with an incredibly creative flair and endless boundaries to her imagination.Alongside Branka's Freelance work, she also teaches at West Thames herself, helping to build the next generation of Make-up Artists.

Kristyan Mallett has worked in the industry as a prosthetic make up artist for ten years and due to requests from Make up Designers and Production Designers, he decided to set up his own company Kristyan Mallett make up effects Ltd. The work has so far been obtained solely from word of mouth. Kristyan prides himself on the quality of work that his crew and himself achieve and it is through this reliable and consistent reputation the company gets further work.

With over 20 year's experience working as a freelance theatrical makeup artist in film, TV and theatre Kate's varied work continues to take her across the UK from delivering workshops to college or uni students, to designing and applying makeup for stage, screen or editorial shoots and filming on location either here in the UK or abroad.
She enjoys and specializes in horror/trauma effects and has the NHS contract for extreme hospital casualty simulation exercises.
She won the first Nick Dudman Pigs Might Fly South award for Best in Wigs and Makeup at the Technical Theatre Awards in 2014.

Dr Beryl De Souza is a Plastic Surgeon in London with a background in research and science and holds an Honorary Clinical Lectureship post in Plastic Surgery at Imperial Medical School. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry as a graduate of Chelsea College, University London. This was followed by a MPhil in Peripheral Nerve Regeneration at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, University of London. This prompted her to study Medicine and she is a graduate of St. Bartholomew’s hospital, University London.
After working in Accident & Emergency she joined the Middlesex/University College Hospital surgical rotation going on to specialise in Plastic Surgery. She has sat on the Opportunities in Surgery Committee at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is on the Medical Student Liaison committee. Dr. De Souza joined the Medical Women’s Federation in 2005 and the important reason for her involvement in MWF is to try and facilitate a knowledge base and networking opportunity for women.
Dr. De Souza’s specialist interest is in scars and in particular keloid scars.

Joey Bevan, is an established name in the fashion & beauty industry, working alongside celebrities and clients on the international music and fashion scene.
With a team of models, MUAs and Hair Stylists, Joey will be demonstrating how the different elements of the team need to work together, how best to communicate ideas and collaborate to achieve the final image. As a brilliant fashion stylist and designer himself, he has worked on hundreds of shoots and is full of tips on how to create a positive and productive work environment.
With the success of his first introductory fashion show in the summer of 2010, where Joey was head-hunted for Britain's Next Top Model Live 2010 & The Ideal Home Show 2011, where he had the honour to meet HRH Prince Charles. His designs & styling have featured on British Xfactor, BINTM, ANTM, Vogue IT, INSTYLE, MTA and many more editorials, TV and music videos. Richard Redlefsen decided when he was 29, to pursue a career in professional makeup. Having already had makeup experience while dancing, Redlefsen attended the Elegance Makeup School in Los Angeles, California, from which he graduated in 1997. After doing makeup work for revenues such as San Jose Opera and San Jose Repertory Theater, Redlefsen moved to Budapest, Hungary, in 1998, where he spent two years working as a makeup artist of makeup effects artist on various Hungarian films, commercials and music videos.
A few months after returning to the United States in 2000, Redlefsen returned to Los Angeles and began working in Hollywood. Since then, his talents have been utilized on such films as Jeepers Creepers, Jeepers Creepers II,Underworld, Saw, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and Resident Evil: Extinction. He has also worked on such television shows as NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Everybody Hates Chris.
In addition to Star Trek, Redlefsen recently worked as a special effects makeup artist on two other major motion pictures for Paramount Pictures, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (featuring Alan Dale and Pavel Lychnikoff) and G.I. Joe (starring Rachel Nichols). His other recent film credits include The Incredible Hulk (2008) and Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans (2009). Other credits are doing Jessica Alba`s beating makeups in The Killer Inside Me (2010),Grown Up (2010), Secretariat (2010), Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas (2011), Here Comes the Boom (2012), Oz:The Great and Powerful (2013) and Grown Ups 2 (2013). He worked on Russia`s largest budgeted film Stalingrad (2013) and Paraiso (2013) in Mexico City.
Over the years, Redlefsen has worked personally with such Star Trek guest stars as Lee Arenberg (on Pirates), James Avery (for the 2005 thriller Lethal Eviction), Diedrich Bader (on the 2004 horror movie Dead & Breakfast), Jonathan Banks (on the 2001 thriller Proximity), Tracy Middendorf (for the 2006 film El Cortez), Ron Perlman (for the 2002 action film Shakedown), Tony Todd (on the Dave Matthews Band music video for "Gravedigger"), Gabrielle Union (on the 2002 heist film Welcome to Collinwood), and Ray Wise (on Jeepers Creepers II).

Victoria Down is known for her work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ( 2016), Fifty Shades of Grey ( 2015), Man of Steel (2013), Juno (2007) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) Victoria broke into the movie business twenty-six years ago, and since then has gone on to become makeup department head on movies including Thir13en Ghosts, Elf, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Night at the Museum 1 and 2, Shooter, Juno, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Lizzie was nominated for an Oscar in 2015 for her Make-up & Hair Design on Guardians of the Galaxy. Fully accomplished in Make-up, Prosthetics and Hair Design and application, Lizze has worked on movies, Thor: The Dark World, The Bourne Legacy, Dark Shadows, The Social Network, Notting Hill and many many more. A talented artist Lizzie states "My principles as a Make-up and Hair Designer are to produce historically correct and natural styling true to the characters and the period in which they live and breathe. I want the audience to feel as if they are part of the story and I do this by producing work that is strong, consistent and above all realistic." Lizzie also speaks fluent Greek and Italian.

When Tina was a sixteen year old junior at the Max Factor salon in London’s Bond Street, she was often starstruck – amazed to find herself in the same room as all the famous film stars that came in to get made up. What she didn’t know then, was just how close to those famous faces she was going to get in the future…
Having acquired her professional qualifications on a BBC training course, she gained wide experience in TV, then moved on to fashion shoots with many of London’s top photographers, before working on many of the iconic cinema and television commercials in the golden age of British advertising.
Now a highly sought after make-up artist Tina gets up-close and personal with some of the biggest stars in the business, on a regular basis – having worked with Kate Blanchet, Helena Bonham Carter, Gwyneth Paltrow, Penelope Cruz, Rachel Weisz, Jessica Chastain, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Connolly, Kate Winslet, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Owen Wilson, Brad Pitt and Jude Law – to name just a few. Tina was nominated at the 70th Academy Awards for her work on the film Titanic in the category of Best Makeup. She shared her nomination with Greg Cannom and Simon Thompson. Jan Sewell is a BAFTA-winning makeup artist, with a wide-ranging career spanning both film and television. Nominated BAFTA Film Award best Makeup and Hair The Danish Girl (2015) Nominated BAFTA Film Award Best Make Up & Hair The Theory of Everything (2014) Nominated BAFTA TV Award Best Make Up/Hair French and Saunders (1987) In 2010, Jan picked up a GOYA award for the Ancient Egyptian-set epic AGORA, starring Rachel Weisz. We are excited to welcome back Greg Cannom for the 2016 show. Greg enjoys the show so much he wanted to put together a special presentation showcasing shots never seen before, exclusively for UMAe. Last year Greg's presentation focused on aspects of film. For 2016 we are honored to have Greg give a main stage presentation about his career, again a very special opportunity not to be missed.

Kenny’s input, help and direction have been key to creating the United Makeup Artist Expo professional trade show. We are delighted to see Kenny back for 2015 and await to see some of his wonderful creations designed specially for our show. Jeanette Redmond has been working as a Hairdresser / Barber / Colour Specialist for the film, TV and theatre sector for two decades. She graduated as a Hair & Make Up Artist from UCA (London College fashion) in 2000. Prior to coming into the industry Jeanette worked in salons & barber shops for 16 years in Chiswick, Kensington & Knightsbridge and is very proud to have assisted & worked alongside the very best in British Film Hairdressing.
Throughout her career Jeanette has used her transferable skills & knowledge and has worked as an IQA assessor & Educator in Hairdressing & Barbering, delivering the NVQ FRAMEWORK & Standards in both Further Eduction & Higher Education sectors. She also delivered Contemporary Hairdressing/Cutting & Period Barbering courses for Film & TV Degree courses at West Thames College & Northbrook College & Assessed work at UCA London College of Fashion.
Jeanette still runs a full column 2 days a week at a plush salon near Ealing Studios, as their Creative Art Director/Barber & Colour Specialist.
