Daniel Parker

Role : Speaker / Demonstrator

Son of the great Hollywood make-up artist Charles Parker, Daniel was born into a world of make-up and design. At the age of 22 he designed his first movie, “Enemy Mine” directed by Wolfgang Peterson, and with this his first temporary tattoos. He soon earned the reputation for producing quality work with the greatest attention to detail.
Paul Merchant

Role : Speaker / Demonstrator

Paul Merchant is a London Based Make-up Artist working for Kryolan at Charles Fox, Covent Garden.

Leading the Charles Fox Make-up team, he has worked in all disciplines of the Make-up industry, from Theatre to Fashion, Body Painting to Cosmetic Camouflage. As a self taught artist, Paul has developed his own style of working, “...I love to play around with products and find different and interesting ways of using them, other than their intended purpose. Having had experience in most genres of the industry I find the cross overs of products and techniques to be really useful in my creative work.
Iain Smith

Role : Speaker

Iain Smith OBE (born in GlasgowScotland) is a film producer. He is known for his productions of Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), The Fountain (2006), Children of Men (2006) and The Fifth Element (1997), among others.

Iain has served on the boards of the UK Film Council, Scottish Screen, the Joint board of Creative Scotland, the Scottish Film Council, the Scottish Film Production Fund, the Scottish Film Training Trust as a Governor of the National Film and Television School, a director of the Children’s Film and Television Foundation, and as Chair of the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He is currently a patron of the London Film School, Chair of the Film Skills Council, and Chair of the Film Industry Training Board.

He is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the Production Guild of Great Britain, and the Producers Guild of America. Iain is also Keeper of the Lair, Glasgow Necropolis (2010).In 2011, Iain Smith was appointed Chair of the British Film Commission.

Darren Jinks

Darren Jinks has served as Wig Master at the Los Angeles Opera since 2006, and has worked as a makeup artist, wig maker and hairstylist for over 25 years in opera, theatre and film. He is the recipient of the Guild Award (I.A.T.S.E. Local 706) for Best Makeup for a Theatrical Production for the Magic Flute (2014) and The Lion King (2002). Darren’s previous credits include Broadway touring productions of The Phantom of the Opera, Titanic and Disney’s The Lion King. He has served as a guest educator at IMATS L.A.- IMATS Vancouver and UMAe London.

With 11 award wins and 22 nominations. Greg Cannom worked as a makeup artist on Michael Jackon's "Thriller" music video, he also won the Academy Award for Best Makeup for Mrs. Doubtfire as well as for Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula and David Fincher's F. Scott Fitzgerald adaptation, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Greg also has another six nominations under his belt for films ranging from the cerebral masterpiece A Beautiful Mind to the epic blockbuster Titanic He has also been nominated for seven Saturn Awards and been awarded one

Emily Dowd has been working as a make-up and hair artist within the industry for the past six years. Initially training as a wig maker and theatrical make-up artist in her home of South Wales, she then went onto study make-up for T.V. and film in London. Choosing to pursue a career in film make-up she was lucky enough to work on movies ‘Made in Dagenham’ ‘W.E’ and ‘My Week with Marilyn’. Following this she discovered a love for body art and began working with world renowned artist Carolyn Roper, founder of www.getmadeup.com and has been lucky enough to travel to some amazing locations with Carolyn including the Caribbean, Hong Kong and Paris.
